First, slide the washer onto the shaft. Then, tighten the corresponding locknut (e.g., KM 20) to the required torque. Find a washer tab that aligns with one of the slots on the locknut's outer diameter and carefully bend that tab into the slot to secure the nut in place.

It is generally not recommended to reuse tab washers. The metal tab is bent during installation, and bending it back and forth can cause metal fatigue, potentially leading to failure. For critical applications, always use a new washer.
