A 'C' curve MCB is designed to trip between 5 and 10 times the rated current, making it suitable for applications with moderate inrush currents like lighting, motors, and transformers. A 'B' curve trips at 3 to 5 times the rated current and is used for resistive loads with little to no inrush, such as domestic heating circuits.

While it is primarily designed for circuits with a phase (1P) and a neutral (N), it's crucial to follow local electrical codes. The neutral pole is only switched and does not offer overcurrent protection. For protecting two live lines, a proper 2P breaker is the recommended and safer choice.

Icn (rated short-circuit capacity) is defined by the IEC/EN 60898-1 standard for residential and similar installations.
