Schneider Electric Acti9 iC60N RCBO A9D11802

Description

The Schneider Electric A9D11802 is an all-in-one Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent protection (RCBO) from the industry-leading Acti9 range. This compact device provides a complete solution for protecting personnel and equipment in final distribution circuits. It combines the functions of a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) and a residual current device (RCD) in a single unit, safeguarding against short-circuits, overloads, and earth leakage currents. It is fully compliant with standards IEC/EN 60947-2 and IEC/EN 61009-1.

FAQ

What is the difference between a C-curve and a B-curve breaker?

A C-curve breaker, like this one, is designed to trip at 5 to 10 times its rated current. It is suitable for circuits with moderate inrush currents, such as small motors, transformers, and fluorescent lighting. A B-curve breaker trips at 3 to 5 times its rated current and is used for purely resistive loads like heating elements or incandescent lighting.

How does the VisiTrip feature on this Acti9 RCBO work?

The VisiTrip feature provides a red mechanical indicator on the front face of the device. This indicator becomes visible only when the RCBO has tripped due to an electrical fault (overload, short-circuit, or earth leakage), allowing maintenance personnel to quickly identify the faulty circuit in a large distribution panel, thus speeding up troubleshooting.

Can this 1P+N RCBO be used on a single-phase circuit without a neutral?

No. A 1P+N RCBO requires both the phase and neutral conductors to be connected correctly to function. The residual current sensing mechanism works by comparing the current in the phase conductor with the current in the neutral conductor. Without a neutral connection, it cannot detect an earth leakage fault and will not provide the intended protection.
