The Eaton PKZM0-16 is the modern, direct successor to the Moeller PKZMO-16. While functionally very similar, the PKZM0 series features updated internal components, a slightly different form factor, and compliance with the latest electrical standards. Accessories are generally not cross-compatible between the two series.

Yes, it can be used for single-phase applications. To do so, you must wire the incoming and outgoing power through all three poles in series to ensure the thermal protection elements heat up evenly and trip correctly based on the motor's current draw. Refer to the manufacturer's wiring diagrams for proper connection.

The short-circuit trip current for the PKZMO-16 is fixed at 14 times the maximum rated current of the thermal setting. For this 16A model, the magnetic (short-circuit) trip is set at 224A (14 x 16A). This value is not adjustable.
