FAQ

A mixproof valve, or double-seat valve, has two independent seals that create a separation chamber between them. This design allows two different products or a product and a cleaning fluid (CIP) to run through the same valve body simultaneously without any risk of cross-contamination. This greatly increases process efficiency and plant flexibility.

This control top uses a standard 24VDC PNP interface. It is a direct-wire unit, meaning it does not use a fieldbus protocol like AS-i or DeviceNet. It provides signals for valve position (open/closed) and allows for solenoid activation via a 24VDC signal from a PLC or other control system.

HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) seals offer good resistance to fats, oils, and many CIP chemicals. Regular maintenance involves visual inspection for wear, cracking, or hardening. Service intervals depend heavily on the process conditions (temperature, pressure cycles, chemical exposure), but a typical preventative maintenance schedule would recommend seal replacement every 12-24 months.
