FAQ

The FMP51 uses guided wave radar (GWR). High-frequency microwave pulses are guided along a probe. When the pulse hits the surface of the medium, it is reflected back to the transmitter. The device measures the time-of-flight to accurately calculate the level.

The probe is made of 316L stainless steel, and the seal is FKM (Viton), which offers good resistance to many chemicals, oils, and high temperatures. However, for highly corrosive media like strong acids or bases, you must verify the chemical compatibility of both 316L steel and Viton with your specific medium to ensure longevity and safety.

HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) protocol is a hybrid analog+digital communication standard. It superimposes digital communication signals on top of the standard 4-20mA analog loop. This allows you to access additional device information, perform remote configuration, and run diagnostics without interrupting the primary 4-20mA level signal.
