Type AC RCBOs are designed for purely sinusoidal AC fault currents. Type A, like this model, provides protection for both sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC fault currents, which are common in modern electronic loads like computers, dimmers, and inverters. This makes Type A more versatile for modern installations.

The 'C' refers to the tripping characteristic curve. A C-curve breaker is designed for general-purpose applications with moderate inrush currents, such as lighting, sockets, and small motors. It will trip between 5 and 10 times the rated current (16A).

This is a single-pole plus neutral (1P+N) device designed for single-phase 230V circuits. It is not suitable for protecting three-phase loads directly, which would require a 4-pole (3P+N) RCBO.
