FAQ

Can this ZM-25-PKZ2 trip block be used with a PKZM0 base unit?

No, the ZM-25-PKZ2 trip block is specifically designed for the older Moeller PKZ2 series. It is not mechanically or electrically compatible with the modern Eaton PKZM0 series of motor protective circuit breakers. Using them together is not possible and would be unsafe.

How do I correctly set the overload protection current on the dial?

The dial should be set to the motor's full-load ampere (FLA) rating, which can be found on the motor's nameplate. The trip block is designed to trip at 125% of the dial setting during an overload condition, providing standard motor protection. Do not set it higher than the FLA to avoid motor damage.

What does the "Test" button do, and how often should it be used?

The "Test" button provides a mechanical test of the tripping mechanism to ensure it functions correctly. It does not test the thermal or magnetic elements. It is good practice to test the mechanism during commissioning and periodically during maintenance checks, for example, annually, to verify the mechanical linkage is free and operational.
